Landing Pages - Optimization And Purpose!
admin on March 7th, 2009
When a person uses the internet or specifically some search engine to search for a product or service, s/he normally types a word or a phrase into a search engine and uses the results to find what s/he Wants. If your web page is among those first 10 listings, you have a much better shot at having a customer visit your website to find out what information, and what products and services you are offering. After optimizing your Landing pages, you can get more visitors and they visit your site and turn into buyers. However, just because they visited your site, does not mean that they will also buy from you. It depends on the steps you take to persuade them to buy your products or services.
Also known as the “name squeeze page” or “lead capture page”, Landing pages are the first point of entrance of a visitor which is coming from either a search engine or from some advertisement. Landing pages are designed specifically to encourage a visitor of your site to buy from your site. However landing pages aren’t limited to sales only. They have been used in list building, surveys, increasing subscribers etc etc.
While designing and optimizing a landing page, there is a clear agreement on the following factors that should be present in a landing page.
- Dedicated by objective
- Simple, brief and focused on the objective
- A call-to-action clear
- A minimum of navigational links
- Illustrations in line with the objective
An effective layout for a landing page should be in follwojgn format
- Title on page - related to the subject of the linking page
- Subtitle - more info related
- Bullets - important things the user/visitor will receive if they do what you are asking
- Testimonials
- Contact form
The Landing page must be written professionally. When writing a landing page, make it as if you are writing some sales letter. As a final reminder and conclusion, build trust. You can include your hand-written signature or a photo of yourself and how you can help your visitor through your free ebook or offer. Remember the old sales adage:
People buy you, not what you are selling
